Helping generate future cash for the National Trust
29 November 2011
Morris Lane was delighted to join The National Trust and Bournemouth Daily Echo event at the Trust’s Kingston Lacy Estate, near Wimborne, Dorset.
On a sunny, but cold November day the firm’s Mike Clark joined Kingston Lacy estate workers and around 60 volunteers from local firms in a day of activity planting apple trees to help create a new cider orchard at Shapwick village on the estate. The plan is for the orchard to eventually generate a cash income to help the National Trust with its conservation challenges.
Our picture shows Mike and Louise Vermeulen from local solicitors Matthew & Matthew with the Isle of Wight Pippin sapling they planted. We hope to be invited back to taste the cider in a few years time!
