We are looking for an ACA/ACCA qualified person with practice experience to join our team to assist in the development of junior staff, adding value and make a real difference to our clients, whilst being able to expand and increase their own skill sets as a Chartered Accountant. The successful candidate will work closely with one of our supportive team leaders to aid in client management. They will be offered a competitive salary for the role.

Role Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualified.
  • Practice experience.
  • Experience in accounts preparation for partnerships/LLPs and limited companies.
  • The ability to prepare CT600 and self assessment tax returns without need for review.
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Professional in approach and experience in contact with clients.
  • Experience in the review of junior staff members work and an ability to provide constructive feedback to aide in their development.
  • Preferably experience with CCH management software, however this is not essential.
  • Maintain objectivity, professionalism and independence in client relationship and foster this within the team.

Role Responsibilities

  • To aid in the training of our up and coming ACA trainees, reviewing their work and progressing their competencies.
  • Preparing and reviewing accounts for both incorporated and unincorporated businesses as well as company and personal tax returns.
  • To work closely with the Team Leader in client management and providing clients the required services.
  • Handling client queries and dealing with clients on a regular basis.
  • To maintain and develop technical ability and be a point of reference for the trainees with the team with regard to technical queries.
  • To work closely with the Team Leader to plan statutory work to be undertaken to be effective and efficient in order to maintain budgets.
  • To provide effective feedback for the client in respect of their accounting systems and future improvements.
  • To report directly to the Team Leader with job status and any concerns the candidate may have.

An exciting position has become available for a full time Audit Manager to join our friendly team based in Poole, Dorset. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary, be ACA/ACCA qualified and will report directly to the RI for the audit assignments.

Role Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Approachable to members of the audit team and lead by example.
  • Able to clearly explain audit testing and technical points to the audit team.
  • Manage the fieldwork team, allocating the appropriate level of work to more junior members of staff.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to the audit fieldwork team.
  • Maintain objectivity, professionalism and independence in client relationship and foster this within the audit team.
  • Discuss difficult/contentious matters with the RI and provide support where required.
  • Have sound technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards and taxation.

Role Responsibilities

  • To work closely with the RI in the planning and tailoring of the audit approach based on the risk assessment for the audit assignment.
  • To support and guide the audit team to address the identified audit risks and to ensure effective, efficient testing so that an audit opinion can be formed.
  • To maintain and develop technical ability and be the point of reference for the audit team with regard to technical queries.
  • To provide the RI for the audit assignment files for review which address the risks identified at the planning stage as well as any additional risks identified during the fieldwork.
  • To plan the audit work to be undertaken to be effective and efficient in order to maintain budgets.
  • To lead, develop and manage an effective audit team.
  • To keep the RI informed of any issues that may arise with the client.
  • To provide effective feedback for the audit client in respect of their accounting systems.

We are an established accountancy practice based in Poole and have vacancies for an experienced bookkeeper to join our expanding and friendly bookkeeping department.

Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients within the office and off site at clients’ premises
  • VAT Return preparation and liaising with HMRC
  • Communicating with clients to request records and answering client queries
  • Prepare year end accounts file
  • Provide assistance to clients who undertake their own bookkeeping
  • Assisting with Monthly Management Accounts for some clients

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a practice or similar environment and have previous experience of using Sage, Quickbooks and Xero to their full functionality and Excel to a high level.

Excellent inter-personal, attention to detail and organisational skills are a must.

A market facing salary is on offer.

Currently, the majority of our staff are remote working due to COVID and those that are in the office are temperature checked and have to wear masks whilst not at their (socially distanced) desk.
